A well-equipped makeup bag must include an exceptional eyeliner that remains flawless throughout the day. Besides being long-lasting, an ideal eyeliner should feature a precise tip for effortless application, transforming the process into a delightful experience. I once struggled with liquid eyeliners, but that changed when I found the Revlon Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner.

No makeup look of mine feels finished without eyeliner. I began my journey playing it safe with creamy pencils, but as I grew older, I ventured into the more daring realm of liquid eyeliners for their glamorous effect. After trying various liquid options, I almost resigned to the idea that they weren’t for me—until I discovered Revlon’s Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner.

The first factor I consider in an eyeliner is its applicator. A slender felt tip ensures a smooth and comfortable application without letting any sudden movements ruin the look. Fine-tipped eyeliners allow for precise lines, and if they’re flexible, they can be easily maneuvered to match your style.

Revlon’s Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner in shade 301 ‘Black Out’ is marketed as a smudge-resistant, ultra-thin formula designed for precision, promising ten hours of wear. Featuring a superfine 0.1mm tip, it allows for the creation of the ultimate skinny line, while its inky finish delivers a bold and striking look.

What stands out about this eyeliner is its brush-like fine felt tip, which creates smooth strokes and ensures a flawless application. This product has been ophthalmologist-tested and is available in three shades: black, mahogany, and navy. I opted for the classic ‘301 Black Out’.

You can easily find the Colorstay Skinny Liquid Liner at various drugstores, Revlon kiosks, and online, with a price tag of $8. The packaging is convenient for travel, featuring a screw-on cap. For the cost, you receive 2.5 ml of product, which should last a couple of weeks. One of its best features is the tip—not too stiff, yet not overly flimsy, making it suitable for both novices and experienced users alike.

Once applied, this eyeliner offers a matte finish, which I personally prefer over glossy alternatives. However, keep in mind that it is not waterproof and can smudge, so caution is required to avoid accidental rubbing of the eyes. For those with oily skin, particularly in hot weather, it’s recommended to set the eyelids with powder or matte eyeshadow before application to enhance longevity.

Those with normal to dry skin will appreciate the eyeliner’s staying power, and individuals with oily skin will find it effective when combined with a powder base. That said, if you experience heavy rainfall, you might want to reconsider, as it doesn’t maintain its smudge-proof claim in all conditions. Additionally, it easily removes with any makeup remover or micellar water, leaving no stains behind.

Pros include its sexy and elegant application, excellent color payoff, and suitability for sensitive eyes.

On the downside, it falls short on the smudge-proof claim.

Will I purchase it again? Absolutely, as the fine felt tip is the best I’ve encountered in both drugstore and high-end liquid eyeliners.
