L’Oreal Paris stands as one of the pioneering names in the cosmetics industry, cherished for its elegance by makeup enthusiasts. While the brand leans towards the pricier end of the drugstore spectrum, I have invested in several of its products, each consistently impressing me. Initially, I aimed to purchase the Maybelline Fit Me powder, which is highly recommended for dry skin; however, due to its unavailability, I opted for the L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable powder instead. I had never seen a recommendation for this particular powder for dry skin, but in times of need, one must make do, so I decided to give it a try. Read on for my thoughts about this product.

**Claims of L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Pressed Powder:**

This powder is designed to seamlessly match your skin tone, featuring a soft, smooth texture that is convenient for quick touch-ups.

The True Match Press Powder is a delicate, lightweight formula blending effortlessly with your complexion for a perfectly polished look. Choose from six impeccable shades to find your ideal match.

With True Match’s Opti-Match technology, the powder incorporates ultra-fine pigment that accommodates every skin tone and texture with remarkable accuracy.

The super-blendable formula delivers a fresh finish that neither cakes nor streaks.

It is recommended for use following the True Match Liquid Foundation or on its own.

The pressed powder comes in a silver plastic compact with a transparent lid. Although the packaging is sturdy, it is prone to scratches. The compact features two sections; the lower compartment holds a mirror and a sponge for application. The closure is reliably secure, making it travel-friendly since I have taken it on trips without any breakage.

To start, it’s important to note that this powder is primarily formulated for individuals with oily skin, equipped with impressive oil-absorbing properties. As such, it effectively keeps shine at bay for extended periods. Users with combination to oily skin often rely on this powder for setting their makeup and quick touch-ups. It’s a coveted setting powder among many beauty influencers focusing on oily skin.

Many individuals mistakenly believe that those with dry skin do not require setting powder, thinking that their skin naturally prevents excess shine. However, this is a misconception. Setting concealers, blending blush and bronzer, and managing shine in the T-zone during warmer months still require a good setting powder, as many mattifying powders can be overly drying.

Circling back to the L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable pressed powder, I was skeptical about its suitability for my dry skin, especially given its higher price point, leading me to assume I would eventually give it away. However, upon applying it, I was pleasantly surprised. It neither revealed dry patches nor caked; instead, it delivered a remarkably natural appearance on my skin. Since that moment, it has transformed into my preferred setting powder for both the under-eye area and my entire face.

In terms of texture, the powder itself is standard, but its coverage is commendable. Offering light to medium coverage, it effectively conceals imperfections, especially if your foundation has a sheer finish. The shade selection, however, could be expanded, as it lacks options for extremely light or dark skin tones. The shade I have, W3, appears slightly lighter for my MAC NC30 skin tone, but once blended, it does not look too pale.

During summer months, when my complexion may become a mix of oily and dry, I apply a good moisturizer and then use a large fluffy brush to distribute this powder across my face. It offers lasting wear of approximately 8-10 hours, maintaining shine-free skin for around 4-6 hours. Its compact design makes it convenient for touch-ups on the go. I love how seamlessly it blends onto my dry skin, making me recommend this powder for all skin types—though a good moisturizer is essential for those with dry skin before application.
