They really pulled it off.
Day For Night, a third-year audio/visual festival taking place in downtown Houston, is making a strong comeback following a tumultuous event in 2016. The 2017 lineup is impressive, featuring prominent acts such as Justice, Nine Inch Nails, and Thom Yorke. This celebration of art, sound, and visuals will unfold from December 15 to 17 at a vast, unused post office facility, now revamped into a multifunctional entertainment venue called Post HTX. One hopes that the recent acquisition of the site by developers will bring enhanced infrastructure and facilities to accommodate the ambitious nature of the festival. This year’s event will once again showcase a wide array of art installations, including groundbreaking pieces from multimedia artist Ryoji Ikeda, whose dynamic “stage shows” have graced the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, along with laser light creator and holographer Matthew Schreiber. A notable addition for 2017 is the inclusion of a third day, expanding the previous two-day schedule and allowing attendees more time to experience Day For Night’s diverse and experiential offerings.
