Q-Tip has revealed that a new album from A Tribe Called Quest is on the horizon. Although the album does not yet have a title, confirmed guest appearances include Consequence and Busta Rhymes. This project will mark the group’s final release. Q-Tip took to social media to share a handwritten message explaining the inspiration and development behind the album.
Tragically, Phife Dawg passed away in March before the album could be finalized. “He left us with the blueprint of what we had to do,” Q-Tip noted in his message. Recently, a street in Queens was named in Phife Dawg’s honor. More information about the album is expected to be revealed in the upcoming weeks. You can read Q-Tip’s note in its entirety here.
