Dakota Fanning is eager to clarify that there is no sibling rivalry between her and her sister, Elle Fanning. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Dakota, aged 31, emphasized that she and her 27-year-old sister have always pursued unique paths within the industry.
“Not at all. We obviously have a lot in common, but our differences are pronounced,” Dakota stated, dismissing any notions of professional competition. “I don’t perceive a role that fits her in the same light as one that suits me. Competition is simply not a sentiment I feel. However, I understand that many may find it hard to accept.”
The Fanning sisters have been public figures since they were children—Dakota rose to fame at just seven years old with her performance in *I Am Sam*, while Elle portrayed her younger self in the same film.
