Wet N Wild MegaLast Lipstick in Stoplight Red - Review & Swatches

The packaging of Wet n Wild MegaLast lipsticks features a black plastic bullet with a transparent cap. While the quality isn’t premium, it meets expectations given the $2 price point. One thing to note is that the lipstick does not retract all the way, which can cause it to smudge against the cap. Care is needed when securing the cap to prevent mess. However, the packaging is sturdy enough for travel.

As someone who typically prefers pink lipsticks, I rarely reach for red shades because they can be tricky to find in flattering hues. Nonetheless, I believe every makeup enthusiast should possess a quintessential red lipstick. I personally lean towards pink or blue-toned reds, as they tend to be more universally flattering and won’t give the illusion of yellowing teeth. Although I initially intended to try the Red Velvet shade, my friend recommended Stoplight Red as a superior choice.

Stoplight Red features a stunning blue-based pink-red hue. Its formula is primarily creamy matte, providing comfort even for those with dry lips. Some colors in this range may not offer a completely matte finish and can appear slightly satin in humid conditions. If you favor a more matte look, simply blot your lips with a tissue, and the lipstick will transform to a matte finish. The pigmentation is exceptional, achieving full coverage with just one swipe. It endures for over four hours—often lasting around eight hours if greasy foods are avoided. Removing it can be a bit challenging, as it tends to leave behind a tint that makes your lips look nice even the following day if you choose to skip makeup.

The Wet n Wild MegaLast lipsticks have become my go-to choice, and many of my friends and family members share my enthusiasm. For the price, you truly get quality that rivals many high-end drugstore options. This lipstick is easy to apply, boasts impressive pigmentation, doesn’t feather or bleed, and is particularly suitable for dry lips. Additionally, Stoplight Red is a versatile shade that looks good on a variety of skin tones.
